Crafters Eco Casting Resin 300ml NZ Made
Crafters Eco Casting Resin 300ml NZ Made
Use Casting resin for hobby and craft projects such as ornamental mouldings, jewellery, mirror/picture frames & decorations.
Watch a tutorial on using this product below.
2 Part System-No VOC, No nasties-eco Casting Resin with stirring stick & 1x25ml measuring spoons.
Casting Resin is used for making decorative embellishments by pouring the mixed resin into our moulds see here models, jewellery.....the possibilities are endless.
Try using it with our DIY Decor Mould range see here
Using Crafters Casting resin is a great alternative to using Air dry clay. The main pro is that it is stronger than clay, it eventually dries as hard as plastic. The product is breakable depending on the thickness of the mould that is used. ie: a shallow mould makes a thin embellishment lessening the strength of the plastic.
Simply mix Part A with Part B in a measuring container exactly by volume.
IE: 150ml to 150ml.
Stir with the wooden stick supplied.
Pour into your mould. There is no need to put any sort of release agent into the mould, it releases easily when hard.
Try not to overfill the mould and ensure it is level as this will be the underside of your object and needs to be flat if you want to adhere it to surfaces. Any over spill can be tidied up and sanded or cut off need be when hardened.
Allow 24- 48 hours hardening
On demolding the product will be slightly pliable. If applied gently it will be able to be moulded around objects to a certain extent.
We suggest applying the mould BEFORE it completely hardens and cures while still slightly pliable. Over weeks the mould will slowly evaporate any moisture and completely harden.
Use Contact glue to apply. Brush contact glue onto the surface and also on to the design. Let the glue get tacky, this takes approx. 5 to 10 mins, then press firmly onto the surface.
Now it is ready for painting! We suggest painting/sealing the moulding immediately and before the product hardens too much as this will help seal in any moisture and help prevent the product becoming too brittle as the liquids evaporate over time. (these steps are essentially a result of us developing this product to the best it can be without adding any nasties)
You can use our Chalk finish paint as a base colour and then select from our lovely array of decorative effect products including coloured Waxes, Metallic paints, Sparkle Paints Here -or our Speedball metallic leaf papers or Redesign Gold leaf here
Includes: 2 pots: 1x Part A 150ml, 1xPart B 150ml
1 Stirring Stick, 1x 25ml Measuring spoon.
